REDCap Support

The research IT group supports one of the larger REDCap installations worldwide free of charge. Generally, our support efforts can be categorized into 3 areas:

Training

We teach one of our 9 REDCap classes in the Trail room of the Health Science Library every week.

For a complete description of each class and the current schedule, go to REDCap training.

We also write a blog every month about a new or underutilized feature in REDCap. Check out our Tip of the Month archive.

Housekeeping Tasks

In order to keep our REDCap installation running smoothly, we perform a number of housekeeping tasks (also known as “Click throughs”).

These types of tasks come in via our ticketing system and usually get processed within one business day.

Examples of these housekeeping tasks:

  • New project creation approval
  • Sponsoring users from outside the University of Washington organization
  • Change requests in production mode (we double check whether or not the proposed changes have any negative side effects)
  • Project deletions
  • Certain user management issues; e.g., all users on a project have left the organization and their replacements need access.
General Questions and Advice

If you have a question about REDCap, your project, advice on how to do things in REDCap or are interested in perhaps hiring us for a consultation, feel free to shoot an email to our REDCap admins.

For these types of questions, we tend to get back to you within one business day, but we can’t guarantee that we can resolve your question in the same time frame.

We also run a weekly virtual office hour on Wednesday from 2-3 PST. Users of our REDCap installation are welcome to drop by and ask any question of our administrators.

To attend, please join the dedicated zoom meeting at the time mentioned above. You can find the link on the top of the screen when you login to our REDCap installation.
